Losing Weight On Low Carb Without Exercise

Post Date – Update:

When many people start on a low-carb diet, they want to know if they can lose weight on a low-carb diet without exercise. Some people do not like to exercise.

You can lose weight on a low carb or keto diet without exercising. Excercise is only 10% of the weight-loss equation, whereas the low carb and keto lifestyle will account for at least 90%. For someone to lose weight on a low carb diet, they need to follow the low carb diet for ultimate success.

Exercise Is Only 10% Of The Weight Loss Equation.

I have always been perfect about exercising as I enjoy it. But even if I went out to bike 30 or 40 miles a day, it never led to much weight loss.

Exercise alone is only 10% of the equation with weight loss, and it may even be less for some people. The fact exercise only accounts for about 10% of your overall weight loss is probably good news to those who hate exercise and want to lose weight.

But it is awful news for those of us who enjoy exercise and wish we could lose weight only through exercise and nothing else. A complete and total bummer for someone like me is that you can work so hard at exercise and not lose any weight.

There are, of course, a ton of benefits to exercise, such as better sleep, better overall mental health, and overall better health; losing a lot of weight just by exercise is not one of those benefits.

Eating Right is 90% of the Weight Loss Equation.

Eating right is 90% of the weight-loss equation, and for that 90%, you need to be eating low carb or keto. Low carb or keto is eating meats and vegetables and then adding some fats as flavor.

So even to gain the complete 90% benefit on this, you need to be eating right. And to eat right means that you should be eating as follows:

Control Your Carbohydrate Intake

It used to be that controlling or cutting out carbohydrates from your diet was considered one of the worse things to do for your diet. But as the American population has gotten fatter due to their increased intake of carbohydrates, medicine and science have finally caught up and realized carbohydrates are a culprit in our eating.

Things like refined sugars, white flour, and even white rice will severely increase our insulin and sugar levels and stop us from not losing weight. In short, our bodies cannot run well as there are too many carbohydrates running through our system.

Eat Good Proteins

Research has shown that protein and suitable proteins are essential to help us properly build and heal our bodies. On the low-carb diet and keto diet, you need to eat protein.

An average woman should be eating about 100 grams or 3.52 ounces of protein per day. That can be quite a bit of protein if you are not used to eating a lot of protein. But this can be more than depending on your ideal body weight.

The formula to know how many grams of protein you should be eating is as follows:

Ideal Body Weight In Pounds x 0.5 – 1 gram protein = total grams per day (and then I do the average of both amounts)

Insulin Iq

If, for example, your ideal body weight is 165 pounds, the formula would be like this

165 x 0.5 = 82 grams of protein or 165 x 1 = 165 grams of protein.

I would then take the average of those two 82 + 165 = 182 grams divided by 2 = 123.5 grams of protein per day.

A woman or man whose ideal weight is 165 pounds should be eating about 123 or 124 grams of protein per day. One large egg only had about 7 grams of protein, so you need to eat 124 grams of protein in eggs, or about 17 eggs a day.

I do not think anyone will want to eat 17 eggs a day unless you love eggs, but it shows that usually, this is more protein than what we think it is to eat all this protein.

Eat Low Carb Vegetables

Once you have your protein and cut out the carbohydrates, the next step is to find and eat those vegetables that are considered low carb and good for you.

The list of vegetables that are considered to be low carb include:

Asparagus

Bok Choy

Broccoli

Brussel Sprouts

Cabbage

Cauliflower

Celery

Cucumber

Eggplant

Fennel

Green Beans

Greens of all kinds

Jicama

Leeks

All kinds Lettuce

Mushrooms

Okra

Onions

Peppers

Pumpkin

Radishes

Shallots

Snow Peas

Sprouts

Squash

Sugar Snap Peas

Tomatoes

Turnips

Zucchini

Garlic

As you can see, what is not included is carrots or potatoes. Neither carrots nor potatoes are considered to be low-carb vegetables.

Use Fats To Give Flavor

With low-carb living, you can eat all kinds of fats to help you flavor your food. This is one of the best parts of the keto and low-carb lifestyle.

You can go ahead and fry your steak in butter. Have a bunch of pecan nuts tossed into your salad, or add cheese to your salad.

Those things are possible and encouraged on the low carb and keto diet. One of the great things about the diet is that you will feel satisfied and not hungry as you eat protein, vegetables, and fats.

You can lose weight with low carb eating and not exercising, but as the diet is 90% of your weight loss, you need to be sure that you are eating correctly and following your low carb and keto diet.
