Can You Lose Body Fat Without A Low Carb Diet?

Post Date – Update:

One of the questions that many people want to know is if they can lose body fat without going on a low-carb diet. Like so many of us, we want to have our “cake and eat it too.”

People do lose weight without a low-carb diet, but being on a low-carb or keto diet is a much more efficient way to lose weight than any other diet. Low carb and the keto lifestyle can help you control your insulin resistance, which will lead to an increase in health and help you fight and control other diseases while losing body fat.

Low Carb Is A More Efficient Way To Lose Body Fat

People will lose weight without being on a low-carb diet. After all, companies like Weight Watchers continue to succeed, and many people lose weight on their programs.

You can also lose weight by fasting and not eating anything during the day for weeks or months. Eventually, you will lose all your body fat.

People who get weight loss surgery also lose weight. They have cut down on their food, so they lose weight.

So the question should not be if you can lose body fat without being on low carb – as you can – but the question should be what is the most efficient way to lose body fat?

And if you ask that question about the most efficient way to lose body fat and lose weight, then time and time again, the research shows that eating low carb and keto is the most efficient way to lose weight.

Why Low Carb And Keto Are More Efficient To Lose Body Fat?

There are many reasons why eating low carb and keto is a more efficient way to lose body fat. You can eat just as much as someone else or even less on other diets, but you may still find it hard to lose weight.

If you are like me, and you struggle with your weight and find that even on a diet where you are not eating many calories, the weight comes off very slow or not at all.

That is why it goes back to the question of not if you can lose weight without low carbs -as you can – but what is the most efficient way for you to lose weight.

According to recent research – we suggest that you read the book” Why We Get Sick” By Dr. Benjamin Bikman. You can buy the book here.

Dr. Bikman explains why people lose weight and burn fat more efficiently on a low carb and keto diet than on any other diet. The reason has to do with what is known as Insulin resistance.

Definition Insulin Resistance

Insulin resistance is a medical term used to describe how your body uses insulin. Most people think about insulin resistance when they get diabetes, but the signs of insulin resistance can show up before then.

The famous medical website WebMD defines insulin resistance as:

Insulin resistance is when cells in your muscles, fat, and liver don’t respond well to insulin and can’t use glucose from your blood for energy. To make up for it, your pancreas makes more insulin. Over time, your blood sugar levels go up.

Insulin resistance syndrome includes a group of problems like obesityhigh blood pressurehigh cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. It could affect as many as 1 in 3 Americans. You might also hear it called metabolic syndrome.”

WebMD

In short, insulin resistance is when your body cannot properly use the insulin so that it can turn into a host of diseases, including obesity. According to WebMD, at least 33% of Americans have insulin resistance; many have said the number could be much higher than 33%.

According to Insulin IQ, a company that Dr. Benjamim Bikman is part of, insulin resistance can lead to many different medical disorders, with obesity just being one of those. On the Insulin IQ website, it lists the common disorders as:

  • Obesity
  • Migraines
  • Dementia
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Childhood Obesity
  • PCOS syndrome
  • Fatty Liver
  • Arthritis
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Sarcopenia
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Heart Disease

It is said that each of these conditions is either caused or made worse by our insulin. In other words, if we eat foods with our insulin in mind, it can help these other conditions or even improve them.

The primary way that research has shown us that we can do this is through how and what we at by eating no sugar or the carbs that will turn right into sugar in our bodies and instead eat more meat, vegetables, and fats.

In other ways, eating a low carb or keto diet will help us not only lose body fat but should also help us balance our insulin and control other diseases that are known to be made worse when our body has insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome.

The team at Insulin IQ works together with the Diet Doctor website to offer you some group or individualized coaching. I have done their coaching now for a while, and I have to say it is very good.

So much to do with food is not about just eating. We all know what we should or should not be eating, but we make sure we eat the right things.

For me and my body, when I eat keto, which means I am eating meat, vegetables, and some fats, it makes all the difference, and I find that I am losing weight and feeling satisfied. But more than that, I feel like my body burns fat more efficiently, and I am not tired but feel good.

People can lose weight by not eating low carbs, and they also feel better as they lose weight. But why would you want to when there is a more efficient way that allows you to lose body fat and improve your overall metabolic health?

That is what going on a keto, or low carb diet does. It helps improve your overall health in many unique ways while helping you burn fat.
