Keto Diet And Exercising

If you abide by the strict rules of keto, theoretically, you could lose weight on the keto diet without exercising. As we all know, exercise alone does not lead to weight loss, but it is a diet that helps drive weight loss.

You can lose weight on a keto diet without exercise, even though the weight loss may be slower than if you exercise. Weight loss and exercise, especially resistance toning, can speed up weight loss and help preserve your muscle, and aid your weight loss on the keto diet.

A person could go on a keto diet and never exercise and lose weight. But the question we need to ask ourselves is if that is necessarily the best way to go on a diet or is that the most effective way to be on a keto diet?

Even though you could be on a keto diet and lose weight and not exercise, I believe that there are many benefits to exercise that will make your success on a keto diet much better if you add exercise as part of the diet.

Benefits of Exercising And The Keto Diet

Face it, being on a keto diet and exercising will have far more benefits than being on the keto diet alone. Exercise is one of those things that will help you lose weight; an exercise and eating plan together can have added benefits for your diet.

Here are some of the benefits I have seen personally by exercising while being on a keto diet.

Stress Relief

Most of us live very stressful lives. There are so many things coming out of us at once from all different directions.

I have found that regular exercise has also helped me to be able to relieve or at least maintain my stress level. I believe that exercise has a huge benefit and helps all of us to be able to control stress.

On the days when I feel highly stressed, if I go out to exercise, for some reason, it just feels better, and I can deal with the stress better. This is one of the best benefits of exercise; it will help you relieve, maintain, or handle your stress levels.

Better Mental Health

Exercise has been shown to help your mental health. In particular, it has been found that people who exercise regularly can better control things such as depression or anxiety.

When I was in college, I was under massive stress while studying for my master’s degree program. I worked part-time, going to school and taking a heavy course load.

There was a time when I could hardly sleep, and my stomach felt like I was under constant stress. I went to the medical center, and they diagnosed me with having chronic stress.

One of the ways I have personally been able to keep my chronic stress symptoms under control and my mental health in check has always been through exercise. I find that exercise helps to clear my mind and helps not only to relieve stress but helps to improve my overall mental health.

Improve Muscle Strength And Balance

Exercise can help you improve your muscle strength and your overall balance. Studies have shown that lifting weights can help you burn fat and not muscle.

Other types of exercise can help improve and strengthen your muscles and maintain your mobility and balance. And sometimes just by doing things we don’t want to do as an exercise helps improve our overall health.

I have always been someone who has enjoyed swimming and cycling but have found some other exercises such as running or walking to be more challenging. I do not have perfect knees, but I have found that the more I walk, the better my knees feel, and if I stop walking, my knee starts to hurt.

So I admit that sometimes I have to force myself to get out and walk, but the more I walk, the easier it is. And the more I exercise, the better my muscle strength and balance are.

Keep You Flexible And Strong

Exercise can help keep you flexible and strong. One reason I try to do yoga is that it helps to keep me flexible. I have noticed that people who keep the flexibility are better off than those who do not.

Improves Your Sleep

Whatever I have exercised has also improved my sleep. The days that I do not sleep well are when I do not exercise.

I travel quite a bit, but I rarely suffer from terrible jetlag. I feel like one reason for this is exercise. When I get to a new destination, one of the first things I will do is get up at my regular scheduled time and exercise.

When I exercise, it helps me to regulate and improve my sleep.

Helps You Age Better

I have noticed that my friends do well with aging exercises. I have some friends in their 70s, yet they will cycle 40 or 50 miles a day during the summertime. They are both extremely fit.

Today age is more of a number and choice than a destination. Those people who tend to age well are those who eat right and exercise.

Good For You and Your Health

Exercise is good for you and your help. Many studies show that exercise can help you ward off disease, help you be healthier, and help you live a longer and more fulfilled life.

If you are on a Keto or any diet, you should make exercise a part of your life; just like you control what you eat, you need to make exercise part of your diet. Exercise should be something you want to do because it is important to you and your overall health.

You can lose weight on keto without exercise; why would you want to do that when there are so many benefits to adding exercise together with your keto diet?

Why go through all that work to be on a keto diet that you do not add another important aspect of it: trying to get in some good exercise. Exercise will help you improve your life and help you change your lifestyle for good.
