You may have heard about Nordic walking or seeing people walking around your neighborhood with some walking poles. Nordic walking is considered to be a superior walking exercise.

Nordic walking is good for weight loss, and there are also many other benefits to adding Nordic poles to your overall walking routine. But no matter how good a Nordic exercise walking is, exercise alone will not help you to be able to lose weight. To lose weight, you must make changes in your diet and lifestyle. We recommend a low-carb and keto lifestyle to help you make changes to benefit your overall health.

Nordic Walking Is Good For Weight Loss

Nordic walking is an excellent exercise for you to do for weight loss. Not only will you burn more calories by adding Nordic walking poles to your regular walking routine, but Nordic walking also has many other health benefits.

Here are some of the top benefits of Nordic walking:

Nordic Walking Is A Full Body Work Out

Nordic walking is a full-body workout. When you do regular walking, you are working mainly your lower body, which includes your legs, quads, glutes, and calves.

But when you add the Nordic walking sticks to your walking routine, you are also working your upper body, which includes your arms, shoulders, upper back, and core.

This means by adding Nordic walking sticks to your regular walking routine, you will work about 90% of all the muscles in your body.

Nordic Walking Burns More Calories

As you are working for more muscle groups and engaging more of your body while you are Nordic walking, it also means that you can burn more calories during your walking workout.

Some health professionals have estimated that you can burn up to 67% more calories simply by adding Nordic walking poles to your regular walking.

Nordic Walking Reduces Injuries

One of the added benefits of Nordic walking is that it will help you to reduce all types of injury. The Nordic walking poles helped with the stability of your walking. I can help you to prevent falls.

For anyone walking in an area where you can easily fall or even walk during the cold winter, by adding Nordic walking poles to your walking routine. It can help you with any balance issues.

Nordic Walking Is Good For Your Health

Nordic walking is also great for your heart and overall health. A recent study published in the Canadian journal for cardiology found that Nordic walking was a superior exercise for improving the overall health of heart patients.

Nordic walking is a good exercise for your health and weight loss. By adding the Nordic walking poles to your regular walking, you will receive many additional benefits.

Do Not Lose Weight By Exercise Alone

But no matter how beneficial Nordic walking is for your overall health, just by exercising alone, you will not lose weight unless you change your diet.

Some health professionals state that for weight loss, your diet and the changes you make to your diet account for 80% of your success, and exercise is about 20% of your success. I have heard those numbers change anywhere from the diet being 90% and exercise being 10% to the diet being 60% and exercise being 40%.

But whatever the actual numbers may be, the main point is that exercise alone will not cause you to lose weight. That is the great fallacy that many people seem to think that if they just exercised enough and ate whatever they wanted to eat, then it wouldn’t matter. – they would still lose weight.

This type of strategy and thinking does not work as a weight loss strategy. To lose weight, you must make changes to your diet.

Here are some of our suggestions on what you can do to lose weight while also exercising:

Go On A Keto Or Low-carb Diet

For most people, a low-carb keto diet is a sure way for you be able to lose weight. Not only are you cutting out the bad carbohydrates and sugars, but to be on a keto low-carb diet means that you would mainly eat protein, vegetables, and some fat.

To correctly be on a keto and low-carb diet is quite a healthy diet as you are cutting out all the bad carbohydrates and eating mainly meat, vegetables, and some fats for flavoring.

Aim For 45 Minutes Exercise, 5 Days A Week

Aim to do about 45 minutes of exercise about five days a week. We find that 45 minutes of exercise is better than 30 minutes, but if you only have time for 30 minutes, then do 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week.

We also recommend that you try to do a variety of exercises. I like to try to walk, swim, bike, lift weights, and do stretching.

Track Your Fitness

Have a way to track your fitness. I like to use an Apple Watch to see how much I am moving and how many steps I take. Another excellent fitness app is MyFitnessPal, so you can write down what you eat and how much you eat.

The main thing is to have some way to be accountable for your fitness goals.

If you follow these basic things, you will be healthier and feel much better. We also greatly believe in cutting sugar in sugary foods out of our diet as much as possible. Not only will you feel better, but you will also be healthier.
