Grilled Lime Chicken is a fantastic Mexican dish. The chicken can be served with Mexican food or eaten on its own.

The Fresh Lime Chicken Mexican recipe uses fresh ingredients from cilantro and limes to a touch of cumin. The chicken is marinated and is best if it can be grilled. The Fresh Mexican Lime Chicken recipe is a great chicken to make for your favorite Mexican dishes.

All About The Fresh Mexican Lime Chicken Recipe

The Fresh Lime Chicken Mexican Recipe is a great chicken recipe that can be made to be eaten with your other favorite Mexican food. Like most of our recipes, one of the keys is that you should use fresh ingredients.

We love to use fresh ingredients for all our recipes. We believe in the new fresh food and homemade food movement that many health professionals are advocating.

Here are a few things to understand about this recipe:

  • Fresh Chicken Breasts – Use fresh chicken breasts. If your chicken breasts are frozen, let them thaw out completely.
  • Pound The Chicken – We recommend that you pound the chicken. This will ensure the chicken is all the same size and thickness. It means the chicken will grill and cook at the same rate when it is about the same size.
  • Fresh Cilantro – Use fresh cilantro. Fresh cilantro is always best to be used for Mexican food.
  • Garlic Cloves – Use fresh garlic cloves as fresh garlic tastes better than paste or the garlic in the jar.
  • Cumin – Cumin is another flavor used in Mexican food, so we add a pinch of cumin to the dish.
  • Sugar – To give a bit of sweetness to this recipe, we use monk fruit sugar. Monk Fruit Sugar is sugar you can use on a keto and low-carb diet.
  • Fish Sauce – We use a fish sauce with this. When you use the fish sauce, you do not need to use any salt as the fish sauce has a salty taste, so you do not need to add salt if using fish sauce. The fish sauce we used was Vietnamese fish sauce.
  • Fresh Lime – Mexican food uses fresh limes. Limes are essential Mexican ingredients.

Mix all these ingredients and allow the chicken breast to marinate for at least 1 or 2 hours. We like to mix up the chicken breasts a day ahead of time and then let the chicken marinate overnight.

About Monk Fruit Sugar

We use Brown Monk Fruit Sugar in this recipe. There are several reasons why we use Monk Fruit vs. other sugars.

We believe that sugar should be cut out of our lives and diet; Monk Fruit Sugar is a great way to help you to cut sugar out of your diet.

Here are some of the reasons we use Monk Fruit Sugar:

  • No Calories – Monk Fruit Sugar has no calories.
  • Does Not Affect Insulin Level – As Monk Fruit Sugar has no calories and is not sugar like cane sugar, it does not affect your insulin levels. It is a healthy alternative to regular or cane sugar.
  • Works Well In Recipes – The Monk Fruit Sugar and, in particular, the brown Monk Fruit Sugar works well in this recipe. It gives the recipe a bit of sweetness without using any sugar.

Limes Vs. Lemons Compared

Limes and lemons are similar, but limes are typically preferred for Mexican food. The reason is that even though they may seem similar, there are some differences.

Here are some of the differences:

  • Limes are small, round, and green, while lemons are more significant and yellow. Lemons are also oval-shaped.
  • Nutritionally they are almost identical and have many of the same health benefits.
  • Both limes and lemons are acidic and sour, but lemons tend to be sweeter, and limes have a more bitter flavor.

The limes have a more bitter flavor, so they are preferred to be used for Mexican food. If you really cannot find any limes, you can use lemons for this recipe, but you should know that the limes are sourer, so the recipe may not taste the same if you use lemons.

It would help if you always used fresh limes or lemons as the fresh limes or lemons will always taste better than the limes are lemons that are in a bottle.

Grilling The Chicken Breasts

The recipe tastes best when the meat is grilled. There is something about grilling meat that helps to bring out the flavor of this chicken.

One reason the grilled meat tastes so good is that the smoke of the charcoal grill gets into the meat while cooking, which helps to give the meat a unique flavor. That is one of the advantages of grilling the meat vs. cooking it in another way.

If you do not have a grill, you can try o bake or grill it in the oven.
