What Ingredients Are In The Keto Flat Bread Recipe?

Ingredients In The Keto Flat Bread Recipe

This flatbread recipe is made with all kinds of fresh ingredients. It has mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, almond flour, vinegar, egg, salt, and pepper. So all fundamental ingredients.

Here are some things to remember about this recipe:

Heat Cream Cheese And Cheese Together

In making this keto flatbread recipe, one of the things that you need to do is heat together the cream cheese and the mozzarella cheese. The reason is that it will make the bread smoother by melting and mixing them.

We heated them together in the microwave and on the stovetop. In some ways, I have found the stove top easier as it allows me to stir while mixing them constantly. But combining them in the microwave can be more convenient, and you do not have to worry about the stovetop process.

The main idea is that you must mix the two well enough to become one big creamy mixture.

There have been times when I have been swamped, so I have skipped this step and just mixed them by hand; this has also worked.

Use Quality Almond Flour

Today it has become easier to find good quality almond flour at almost any grocery store. We have used all almond flour brands, most of which will work well.

You want to ensure that you use almond flour and not something like an almond meal. Almond meal is too rough for this type of bread, so it needs to be almond flour.

Almond Flour Bobs Red Mill
Almond Flour Kirkland

One of our favorite brands of almond flour is Bob’s Red Mill, and the Kirkland brand you can get at COSCO.

Add Vinegar To The Bread

Make sure you add vinegar to the bread, as it does make a difference. We recommend that you use white wine vinegar. If you do not have white wine vinegar, we have also used apple cider vinegar.

Use Olive Oil On Your Hands To Flatten Out

This bread is not the same as other bread that you make. It can be pretty sticky. If you need to add a bit more flour, you can add some more flour or put some olive oil on your hands to use as grease so you can knead the dough together to get the consistency you need.

We also find that it is best to flatten the bread with baking parchment paper. Use two sheets of parchment paper, one on the bottom and one on the top, to flatten the bread before putting it in the oven.

Serve Hot Out Of Oven

This bread always tastes best fresh out of the oven. We have tried to bake it ahead of time and stick it in the refrigerator, but it does not taste as well as if it just comes fresh out of the oven, hot and ready to be served.

Therefore, we always prefer this hot and ready bread out of the oven; sometimes, we only cook part of it and save the rest to bake later.

When we first made the batch, we made it up into different small balls and then kept them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator until we were ready to serve and cook them; do not keep the dough in the fridge for more than a few days.

Add Other Ingredients

Parmesan cheese

This is a versatile recipe that you can use in many different ways. Sometimes we will bake it with cheese on the top to give the bread some extra cheesy flavor. We have found putting parmesan cheese, or a mixture of parmesan and other cheeses, can work well.

Oregano Spices

You could also try adding other spices in the recipe as oregano, for a more of an oregano bread taste.

Use Monk Fruit Sugar

If you want sweeter bread, you could try some Monk, fruit, sugar, and cinnamon.

And if you want to have it as breadsticks, you could cut it up and serve it with a red pizza sauce for dipping.
