Post Date – Update:

Your physical fitness and your health are interlinked. There is a relationship between your health and your physical fitness level.

Physical fitness has been shown to help adults to lower many different types of diseases. Your physical fitness level and activity could also add years to your life. Your physical fitness will help you live a healthier and more fulfilled life.

Physical Fitness And Your Health

There is a lot of benefit to regular exercise. It has been shown that regular physical activity in adults helps to lower the risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and premature death.

Studies have shown that physical fitness can add anywhere from about half a year to seven additional years of your life. Your level of physical fitness is directly correlated with your life expectancy and quality of life.

Studies continue to show that physical activity matters for overall health benefits. Even brisk walking can consistently reduce the risk of chronic diseases and other adverse health outcomes.

Just deciding to be physically active and making physical fitness part of your life can and will improve your overall health and well-being.

5 Ways You Can Improve Your Physical Fitness And Your Health

We can all take steps at any age to improve our physical fitness and health.

Exercise Regularly

One of the most important things you can do for your overall physical activity and health is to exercise daily. Try to exercise at least 45 minutes daily, five days a week.

You do not have to kill yourself by running or jogging, but you should have some moderate physical activity in your everyday life. If you want to lose weight, look at higher-level intensity workouts.

We believe it is essential for you to have some plan and goal in mind. That is one reason why we enjoy fitness challenges like Conquer Virtual Challenge.

Joining a challenge like the Conquer Virtual challenge helps me to get in those extra miles because I want to try to complete my goal of virtually traveling some part of the world.

Eat The Right Foods

Along with exercise, another crucial thing you can do is to eat the right foods. We believe that eating the low-carb and keto lifestyle will help you to be able to stay on track with your fitness goals.

The low-carb and keto way of eating ensures that you eat vegetables and meat and then add a bit of fat for flavoring. You also actively cut out carbohydrates, starches, and sugars.

The low carb and keto way of eating healthy leads to a more healthy lifestyle

Get Enough Sleep

Throughout our life, one of the most important things we can do is to ensure that we get enough sleep daily. Most adults do not get enough sleep. Getting enough sleep can help you to be able to function better throughout the day.

Good quality sleep is essential for our health and well-being. Sleep will contribute to your overall health, but with poor sleep, you do not feel rested, and you could always be tired.

I know that my sleep impacts my overall health and well-being. Getting enough good quality sleep is as essential to me as getting all the exercise I need daily.

The CDC or Centers For Disease Control has a recommended amount of sleep for each person according to age. Below is their commended amount of sleep for teens and adults

Age Group Ages Recommended Hours
Sleep Per 24 hours
Teens 13 to 18 years 8 to 10 hours
Adults 18 to 60 years 7 or more hours per night
61 to 64 years 7 to 9 hours per night
65 and older 7 to 8 hours per night
Centers of Disease Control – Recommended Sleep Per Night

Stay Motivated and Consistent

One of the most important things you can do for your physical activity is to stay motivated and consistent. This may seem very easy, but it can be difficult for people to consistently remain in a physical fitness and wellness program.

One of the best ways to do this is to find exercises you enjoy doing. If you can do something you love, then it is much easier to make sure you do it daily. Walking has never been my strong point because I suffer from bad knees. But I have found that as I consistently do it, I enjoy it more, and it is becoming easier.

Choose a healthy diet plan you can stick with and make part of your life. If you go off your diet, then learn to get back on your diet again.

Join A Group

Join With A Group

Sometimes to stay physically active, you can join a group and do something together with a group of people. Go to a gym, join a class, and get to know the other class members.

Find a group of friends who like to walk and go out to walk with them. Not only will it pass the time quickly as you walk together around the neighborhood, but I will also ensure that you are getting out to get your exercise in.

I have had friends that I have cycled with, and I know that it has made a difference for me. They have pushed me to go places and distances that I would not have gone on my own.

Join a group or become part of a community that will help you to stay physically active. Physical activity, eating right, getting enough sleep, and being consistent with your fitness goals will make a difference in your overall health and quality of life.
